Musical Style: Blues Together, Jack Hadley and Hazel Miller will present an intimate duo performance featuring acoustic and electric Blues, original songs, timeless classics, and stories exploring the true meaning of the Blues and its lasting impact on American music and culture. Join us the first Wednesday of every month for a music series to celebrate two once-in-a-lifetime milestones: the 250th anniversary of American independence and the 150th anniversary of Colorado’s statehood. This series brings together powerful music that reflects our shared heritage, evolving identity, and promising artistic future as a state and as a nation. June’s performance will focus on the Blues — the foundation of American popular music and one of the nation’s most influential artistic traditions. Featured performer Jack Hadley brings a deeply expressive style that blends North Mississippi drone blues with the influences of Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Albert King, Curtis Mayfield, and Bob Marley. A former lead guitarist for Otis Taylor, Hadley has performed nationally and internationally at renowned festivals including the King Biscuit Blues Festival, Ottawa Blues Festival, and Finland’s Rauma Blues Festival, and has released four CDs of original Blues-based music. Joining Hadley as special guest is Hazel Miller, whose powerhouse voice and magnetic stage presence have made her a beloved staple of Colorado’s music scene for more than three decades. Known for her eclectic blend of Jazz, R&B, Blues, and original music, Miller brings passion, soul, and joy to every performance.
