Privacy Policy
Live Music, Inc.
Last Updated: July 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Live Music, Inc. ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use LiveMusic.love, including our website and our mobile applications (together, the "Service").
We built this Service to help you discover live music and keep a private record of the shows you've been to. We collect as little information as we need to do that.
1. Information You Provide
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, where you provide one, your name. Depending on how you sign up and what you choose to add to your profile, we may also collect a username, profile photo, biography, city, gender, and phone number. Only your email address is always required; a name is required when you sign up on our website, while other sign-up methods may create an account without one. We do not currently request or require your date of birth as part of account registration.
Google Sign-In. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We do not receive your Google password. Google's handling of your information is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Content you create. This includes posts, comments, event RSVPs, artists and venues you follow, genre preferences, direct messages you send to other users or artists, and the concert photos you choose to import.
Contact form. If you contact us directly (for example, a "Contact Us" or feedback form), we collect the message you send along with your name, email, and, if you choose to provide it, your phone number, so we can respond to you.
2. Direct Messages
The Service lets you send direct messages to other users and, where enabled, to artists.
What we store. Message content, timestamps, and the identities of the sender and recipient are stored on our servers for as long as the conversation exists, so your message history is available across sessions and devices.
Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. We can access message content as needed to operate the Service, respond to support requests, investigate reports of abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Messages are not shared with other users beyond the intended recipient(s).
Artist messaging settings. Artists can control who may message them and can block individual users from messaging them.
3. Blocking, Reporting, and Content Moderation
Blocking. You can block other users. Blocking a user prevents them from seeing your content, messaging you, or contacting you, and prevents you from seeing theirs. We store a record of who you've blocked so we can enforce it.
Reporting. You can report a post, comment, or user you believe violates our Terms of Service. A report includes your identity as the reporter, the content or user being reported, the reason you selected (for example, spam, harassment, or hate speech), and any additional details you provide. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and are not visible to other users, including the person you reported.
4. Contacts
LiveMusic.love does not access your device's contacts. Our mobile app does not request contacts permission and has no "Find Friends via contacts" feature.
5. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, our mobile app registers a push token (a unique identifier for your device) with Expo, the push notification service we use to deliver notifications to iOS and Android devices, and associates that token with your account. We may use this to send you notifications such as friend requests, RSVP reminders, and messages as those features become active. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
If you use the web version of the Service and enable browser notifications, we similarly store a push subscription (endpoint and encryption keys) provided by your browser.
6. Concert Photos and Your Concert Timeline
The Concert Timeline feature lets you import photos from your device so we can match them to concerts you attended.
What we access. When you select photos to import, our mobile app reads two pieces of information embedded in those photos: the date and time the photo was taken, and the GPS coordinates recorded by your camera. We use these to identify which concert you were at.
Two ways to import photos. You can manually select specific photos to import — these are uploaded immediately for processing. Or, with your explicit permission, you can use "Scan My Whole Library" to have the app check your photo library's date and GPS metadata (not the photo content itself) locally on your device to find likely concert photos. This full-library metadata check happens only when you tap that button — it never runs automatically. Metadata for photos with GPS data is sent to our servers to check it against known concerts. Once a group of photos is confirmed to match a real concert, one representative photo from that group is uploaded to verify the match; the rest of the group is uploaded only after that verification succeeds. If no match is confirmed, no photos from that group are uploaded.
What we store. Photos you import are uploaded to our storage provider (Cloudflare R2) and stored on our servers, along with the date, GPS coordinates, and filename from the photo's metadata. We store this so your Concert Timeline persists across devices and sessions.
Your photos are private by default. Imported photos and the concert memories built from them are not shown to other users of the Service unless you explicitly choose to share them, and are not discoverable or browsable by anyone else. Each photo is stored at a unique web address that is not published or linked anywhere in the Service. That said, our storage provider does not require a login to view a file by its exact address — so, similar to an "unlisted" link, anyone who obtained that specific address directly (for example, if a link were copied or forwarded outside the app) could view the file.
Deleting photos. You can delete individual photos or an entire concert memory at any time from within the app. Deleting a concert memory deletes all photos attached to it. Deleted photos are removed from our storage.
Matching services. To identify the concert associated with a photo, we may send information derived from your photo's metadata — such as the date, venue name, city, or GPS coordinates — to third-party services, including Setlist.fm, Ticketmaster, DuckDuckGo, OpenStreetMap (for reverse geocoding), and Anthropic (to help identify the artist, which may include Anthropic performing a web search on our behalf). Some of these services may receive precise GPS coordinates from the photo; others receive only a venue name, city, or date. We do not send your photos themselves to these services.
7. Device Location
Our mobile app may ask for permission to access your device's location so we can show you concerts near you.
How your location is used. When you grant location permission, your device may send your precise coordinates directly to our servers so we can find and sort nearby events by distance, or it may convert your coordinates into a city name locally and send us just that city name. Which of these happens depends on which part of the app you're using. When precise coordinates are sent, they are used only to answer that specific request (for example, sorting a list of events by distance) and are not saved to our database.
Your selected city is stored on your device so you don't have to choose it every time. You can change your city at any time in the app, and you can deny or revoke location permission without losing access to the Service — you'll simply select your city manually.
Note that this is separate from the GPS coordinates embedded in concert photos you import, which is described in Section 6 above.
8. Information Collected Automatically
When you use our website, we collect standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, and the pages that referred you to us. We use Google Analytics and PostHog, analytics services, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. PostHog also records web session replays (mouse movement, clicks, and page navigation) to help us diagnose bugs and understand usability issues; all form input values are masked in these recordings and are never captured, including passwords. If you are signed in, we associate this analytics data with your account ID, email address, username, and the city you've set as your primary city, so we can correlate behavior with account-level issues you report to us.
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if you disable them.
9. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Show you concerts relevant to your location and genre preferences
- Build and display your private Concert Timeline
- Enable social features you choose to use, such as following artists, adding friends, messaging, and posting
- Send you push notifications and service-related communications
- Enforce blocks and review reports to keep the Service safe
- Understand how the Service is used and improve it
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
10. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only in these circumstances:
Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Service. These include our hosting provider, our storage provider (Cloudflare R2), our analytics providers (Google Analytics and PostHog), our push notification provider (Expo), and Google (for authentication). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually limited in what they may do with it.
Concert data partners. As described in Section 6, we may send photo metadata (such as date, venue, city, or GPS coordinates) to concert-matching and identification services — including Setlist.fm, Ticketmaster, DuckDuckGo, OpenStreetMap, and Anthropic — to identify events. We do not share your identity with these services.
Affiliate partners. When you click a ticket link, you are directed to a third-party ticketing website such as Ticketmaster. Those sites may set cookies or use tracking parameters to attribute the referral to us. Your activity on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. See Section 13 for more detail.
Other users. Content you post publicly — posts, comments, your public profile — is visible to other users. Your Concert Timeline is private unless you choose to share it. Direct messages are visible only to the participants in the conversation. Reports you file are visible only to our moderation team, not to the person you reported.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
Business transfers. If Live Music, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
11. Deleting Your Account and Data
You may delete your account at any time.
In the app. Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
On the web. Visit livemusic.love/delete-account and follow the instructions. You do not need to have the app installed.
By email. Write to privacy@livemusic.love from the email address associated with your account.
What happens when you delete. Your account is immediately deactivated and you are signed out. You will no longer appear to other users, and your content is no longer visible anywhere on the Service.
The 30-day grace period. For 30 days after you request deletion, your data is retained but inaccessible. If you change your mind, sign in again during this window and we will restore your account exactly as it was.
After 30 days. We permanently delete your profile information, your imported concert photos, your Concert Timeline, your posts and comments, your direct messages, your push notification tokens, and your follows and friendships. After this point, restoration is impossible.
We may retain a limited record of the deletion itself, and any information we are legally required to keep, for as long as required by law.
You may also delete individual photos or concert memories at any time without deleting your account. Those deletions are immediate and are not subject to the grace period.
12. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, your data is retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted, as described in Section 11. Our infrastructure providers may retain routine backup copies for a limited period after deletion as part of their standard backup cycle; these are not separately accessible to us and are not a means of restoring a deleted account.
Reports you file, and reports filed against you, may be retained after account deletion as part of our record of moderation decisions and to help prevent abuse.
13. Affiliate Relationships
Live Music, Inc. participates in affiliate programs, including the Ticketmaster affiliate program operated through the Impact network.
When you click a ticket link and complete a purchase, we may earn a commission from the ticketing partner at no additional cost to you. These links may include tracking parameters, and the ticketing partner may set cookies to attribute the purchase to us.
This does not influence what we show you. Event listings, rankings, and recommendations are not affected by whether an event carries an affiliate commission. Ticket prices are identical whether you reach the ticketing site through us or directly.
We do not receive your payment information, and we do not know what you purchased. We receive only aggregate commission reporting.
14. Security
We protect your information using industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), signed authentication tokens to verify your identity on each request, and access controls on our systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our responsibility seriously and work to protect your information.
15. Age Requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to create or maintain an account or to use account-based social features, direct messaging, or the Concert Timeline.
We do not currently verify a user's age or require date-of-birth information as part of account registration.
We do not knowingly permit users under 18 to maintain an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may terminate the account and delete the associated information.
Event discovery features that do not require an account are available without account registration and are not directed to children.
If you believe a user under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@livemusic.love and we will investigate and delete it promptly.
16. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to how we process it, or receive a copy of it in a portable format.
Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, and residents of the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, may have additional rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@livemusic.love. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
17. International Users
Live Music, Inc. is based in the United States, and our servers are located in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect.
