Black Music Month | Juneteenth | BANDiversary Just One Vision. Just One Set. Just Two Musicians. One Night Only. Seven years ago, it began with two: a voice and a piano. A conversation that needed no other words. This Black Music Month, JoFoKe and Solomon Chapman return to how it all started. Same Cloth Duo made its debut at Denver's 2019 Juneteenth Music Festival, and in the seven years since, they have accumulated over 150,000 organic streams, played festivals across Colorado's Front Range, earned a permanent residency at Dazzle Denver, and shared the stage with Dianne Reeves, Derrick Hodge, Dr. Otis Moss, Sharay Reed, Shane Endsley, Otis Taylor, Louis York, and Meshell Ndegeocello to name a few. That duo became a songwriting team, a band, an action orchestra, and a music production collective rooted in Black American Music and exploration. On this night, none of that infrastructure is on stage. Just the two of them, the way it was born. Together, Solomon J. Chapman Sr. and Joslyn "JoFoKe" Ford Keel are the founders of Same Cloth, a genre-bending ensemble and creative collective rooted in Black American Music. Their shared formation in gospel, their classical training, and their fluency across jazz, soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, and rock give the project a rare depth: tradition and modernity aren't in tension here.
