Musical Style: Jazz Domi Edson is an emerging force as a jazz bassist and composer. With her compelling sound, personal recordings, and exciting live performances, she is quickly establishing herself as a rising star on the national scene. The Domi Edson Trio is reminiscent of groups like the Ray Brown and Oscar Peterson Trios, performing a unique collection of new and reimagined music. They are currently preparing to record a new album, so whether you've seen them or not, come for an exciting night of jazz featuring several world premiers of new pieces! The Domi Edson Trio has performed all across North America including Frankie’s Jazz Club (Vancouver, B.C.), The Royal Room (Seattle), Yardbird Suite (Edmonton, AB), live on KUVO 89.3, Dazzle, the Five Points Jazz Festival, and at the International Society of Bassists Conference. As a Sidewoman, Domi has performed with Terrell Stafford, Jason Marsalis, Charles McPherson, The Ken Walker Legacy Sextet, Greg Gisbert, Dawn Clement, Ben Markley, and many more.
