Musical Style: Big Band Jazz The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra Big Band brings the music of Stan Kenton and Art Pepper to Dazzle for an evening of bold arrangements, driving ensemble work, and West Coast jazz influence. Kenton, a pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader, expanded the possibilities of the jazz orchestra with a powerful and innovative sound. Pepper, one of the great alto saxophonists of his generation, brought a lyrical, deeply expressive voice to modern jazz. The evening will celebrate two influential artists whose music continues to inspire both jazz artists and fans.
