Musical Style: Jazz Daniel Weidlein is a Los Angeles–based composer/saxophonist, and a Colorado native, returning to Denver to debut new work from his upcoming project, FROM THE ASHES. Blending jazz and classical traditions into his self-described “chamber-jazz” sound, his music lives at the intersection of structure and spontaneity—long-form compositions that leave room for deep improvisatory conversation. This performance features a band comprised of some of LA's favorite cross-genre improvisers alongside Denver favorite Peter Stoltzman on piano. From the Ashes is a large-scale collaboration with Denver choreographer Gwendolyn Gussman, exploring the life cycle of fire and the shifting realities of a warming climate. At Dazzle, Daniel presents an intimate preview of the project—paired with selections from his previous albums—ahead of the full dance premiere in 2027.
